>>Neuquén Province, is located in the North west of Patagonia. We run a hunting zone that is in the foothills of the Andes, there, the Red Stag found an excellent ground for breeding and feed. Is a peaceful refuge in the deeps valleys and forests of the south of Argentina.
Neuquén Capital is the main town, is 1147 Km. (713 miles) far from Buenos Aires. There are rich hunting zones in the mountain forest, and in the hight desert hills. Our hunting area (Hight Desert) is close Junín De Los Andes (low to medium hills), that is far from Bs. As. 1630 KM (1000 Miles).
The Andes Mountains lie to the west, with Mountain Rivers, lakes, pines and Araucaria forests, and other species.
The east part is a desert, whith low to medium hills and some plain with very low rains during the year.
The Hunt is made in Autum, the temperature in the mountains (west), at night is between 5°C and 12°C (41°f and 53°f),in the day is mild. The annual rain (west) is around 1000 mm. (40 inches). Moving to the East is dry and cold with annual rain of 150 to 300mm. (6 to 15 inches).
Our hunting Ranch is between this two areas, located 15 km. (10 miles) from Junín de los Andes.
The main trophies are Red Stag, Wild Boar and the Mountain Lion or Cougar. Hunting is Horse riding or stalking, depending on the area.
The Hunt:
Hunting Red Stag in Neuquen is an unique experience, stalk it in the foothill of the Andes while the rutting season is his summit, is may be one of the tops of big game sports.
In the province of Neuquen Argentine Adventure runs a ranch plenty of stags, many of them very good trophies, just take a look in the photo gallery, and due to the care we put in the attention of clients the final result is in sight.
Hunting in that particular area with a high volume Deer's, require day long riding and spotting the valleys to hills, to find a trophy good enough to make the shoot.
The final approach is made walking. In a day you'll see many of them, but the large bull take a little time to find.
Long shots are the rule, so a flat trajectory caliber is the must, in the family of the: 270 W, 7mm RM, 300 WM. and so.
THE RED STAG SEASON, run from March 1 to May 31, the Wild Boar, March 1 to October 31, and Cougar March 1 to September 30
Guides:
Our guides hunting in the area almost 20 years, and know all the foot hills, valleys, and bush of the ranch, to fulfill, the expectations of the hunters.
Neuquén country people are very friendly and helpful. All the country people in Argentina are known for the hospitality.
The Lodge:
The Lodging is in Ranch Houses, or Town House, with single or double bedrooms and private bathrooms.Or Fly Camp upon requirement.
The meals are first rate; beef, barbecue, chicken, pork, pasta, salads etc., soft drinks, beer and wine are free. Whisky, brandy, gin etc. free in normal amounts.
Typical 5 Days, 4 Nights, 3 Hunt Days packages:
• Day 1: Buenos Aires Airport Reception - Transport to Domestic Airport - San Martín De Los Andes Airport Reception - Transport to the Farm Lodge, our Hunters House in the town or Fly Camp in the ranch (upon requirement).
• Day 2 to day 4: Full Breakfast in early morning - Hunt - Lunch in the field or Farm House, (Asado, Barbecue) - The Hunter have the option, to take a nap. - Hunt the afternoon until the sunset - Dinner at Lodge. If the conditions, are good, can also be hunted during the night.
• Day 5: Transport to San Martín De Los Andes Airport -Reception in Buenos Aires Airport.
Depending on the schedules of flight, and desires of the clients, the program can be shortened, in a day, or have one more day.
This is an excellent program to make a combination with a Fly-Fishing Trout in the same area.(March, April)
This hunting Program require a deposit of 50%, and must to be booked with four months in Advance
