between McLain Outdoor Adventures and Adventures In The Wild, offers
some of the best big game hunting adventures in North America and across
the globe.
If you’ve been looking for a remote fly-in moose hunt that normally has
50% - 70% success, then this is the hunt for you. The Alaskan Bull
Moose not only has the largest antlers in North America, but it also has
the largest body. Many Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young record book
animals are taken each year in Alaska. This self-guided, remote moose drop
hunt takes place on the Alaskan Peninsula or in western Alaska. Some
areas we hunt any size bull is legal while in other areas we hunt all bulls
taken must have a rack with a spread of at least 50” or have four brow tines
on one side. References and photographs from past hunters gladly furnished
upon request. Bulls with racks from 50” to 70” or more are possible.
These hunts take place from September 1st or 5th to September 15th, 20th
or 25th. We supply suggested equipment, clothing, tackle lists for this hunt.
We take our hunters into units 9A, 21A & 21E most of the time. In 2004,
one of our unguided moose hunters took a 71-1/2” bull on this hunt.
This remote fly-in 10-day moose hunt includes:
- Bush flights from a lodge on the Alaskan Peninsula or from a small
town in western Alaska to hunt area and return.
- One check flight, weather permitting and all meat, hide & rack
hauling from camp back to a small town or the lodge.
- Placement of you and your group into a prime remote fly-in moose hunting
area.
- Tents, cooking & eating equipment, cook stove & fuel, 5 gallon
water jug and basic camp food.
- A two-way radio, tarps and sleeping pad. (A small raft is included
on some moose hunts)
- Meals and lodging for one or two nights at the lodge if need be.
- (You can extend your hunting days in some cases
at no additional cost)
All for only $3,250 per person USD
(Based on a party of two or more)
Your group supplies:
- Hunting & fishing licenses
- Sleeping bags
- Bow, rifle, handgun, or muzzleloader
- Clothing, meat bags/boxes & backpacks
- Fishing & hunting equipment
- Game tags
- All expenses from your home town to the lodge & return including
flights, baggage/shipping charges, meals &lodging.
On this fantastic unguided moose hunting adventure, in some cases, you can
fish for silver salmon, Dolly Varden trout, northern pike, or grayling and
hunt for black bear, wolf & wolverine. The cost of licenses and tags are
as follows: General hunting license: $85, moose tag $400, black bear tag
$225 each, wolverine tag $175, and wolf tags $30 each or no charge and no
limit in some hunting units. The limit on wolves in some hunting areas is

18D5. Hunters that are not U.S. citizens must hunt with a licensed guide
in Alaska. 2005 may be the last year for non-resident un-guided moose
hunting in some areas of Alaska. In 2005, some moose hunting units will have
shorter seasons for non-resident and resident hunters as well.
