between McLain Outdoor Adventures and Adventures In The Wild, offers
some of the best big game hunting adventures in North America and across
the globe.
If you’ve been looking for a remote, self-guided fly-in caribou drop hunt
that normally has 90-100% success, then this is the hunt for you. The Alaskan
Barren Ground caribou not only have the largest antlers in North America,
but they also have the largest bodies. Many Boone & Crockett and Pope
& Young record book animals are taken each year in Alaska. This self-guided
drop hunt takes place approximately 300 to 360 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska.
You will hunt the famous Mulchatna Caribou herd in units 17, 18 or 19. These
hunts take place in August, September and October.

This remote 7 to 9-day caribou drop hunt includes:
- Bush flights from a small town in western Alaska to the caribou hunting
area & return
- One check flight weather permitting, all meat, hide, rack & baggage
hauling back to the small town
- Placement of you and your group into a prime remote caribou area
- Tents, cooking & eating equipment, cook stove & fuel, and
salt for your capes/hides
- A two-way radio, tarps, dry bags, 5 gallon water jug, and sleeping
pads
- Five to seven days of hunting weather permitting
- Self service meat shed and cleaning area in the small Alaska town
All for only $2,915.00

The cost for a non-hunter is $1,954.00 per person
Your group supplies:
* Hunting & fishing licenses
* Sleeping bags
* Food and beverages.
* Clothing, meat bags/boxes & backpacks
* Bow, rifle, handgun or muzzleloader
* Fishing & hunting equipment
On this fantastic adventure, in some cases, you can fish for salmon, northern
pike or arctic grayling and hunt for ptarmigan, black bear, wolf and wolverine.
Unit 18 opens on September 1st for non-residents. Non-residents are allowed
to harvest one bull caribou per person in units 17, 18 & 19. A few sub-units
allow non-resident hunters to harvest one cow or one bull. We invite
you to come to Alaska to experience a caribou hunt that you will remember
for the rest of your life!
The cost of licenses and tags are as follows: General hunting $85, caribou
tag $325, black bear tag $225, wolf tags $30 each or no charge, wolverine
tag $175 and a fishing license runs $35.

We offer remote self-guided & fully guided fly-in moose hunts. Our remote
self-guided moose drop hunts run $4,000 and our self-guided moose float hunts
run $4,500 to $5,500 USD per hunter, request adventure flyers – 2B7, 2E7 or

combination drop hunts are available and run $5,800 USD per hunter – if interested

Hunters that are not U.S. citizens must hunt with a licensed guide in Alaska.
